Wal-Mart Nation
Wal-Mart Nation
For two and a half years filmmaker Andrew Munger traveled across North America to try to answer the question: How did the world’s most successful, influential, and important corporation become the most hated.
The answer is Munger’s new, hour-long documentary, Wal-Mart Nation.
Wal-Mart Nation documents Munger’s two-year journey through the world of anti-Wal-Mart activism. The journey took Munger and co-producer Gregory Bennett across North America, and across the Atlantic. From small town Arkansas to east end London, England, people have a real hate on for Wal-Mart. Even Miss America can’t stand Wal-Mart. Munger wanted to find out why.
Wal-Mart Nation will receive its world premiere at the Montreal World film Festival, which runs from August 23 through September 2, 2007. Wal-Mart Nation was produced by Ultramagnetic Productions in association with CBC Newsworld, and with support from the Rogers Documentary Fund, the Toronto and Ontario Arts Councils, and the Ontario and Federal Film Tax Credit programs.
